In the article “How to Write a LiteratureReviews (UCSC)” by Literature review summarizes research papers relevant to a
particular issue and overviews significant information published on a topic.
There are four stages of development of the
literature review. First of all we should formulate the problem and to identify
the component issues. Next step is finding resources and information about the
subject you explore. Then we evaluate the information we have to make a
hierarchy of significance for better understanding. And the last step is analysis
and discussion of the review.
Also
literature review includes a short summary of the topic and its issues and
splitting into categories, explanation the differences between the works for
better contribution to the understanding and development of the research.
Special attention should be paid to the provenance (authenticate of the information
given by the author), objectivity of author's data, persuasiveness of the
research and value of the author’s work.

it up that the literature review is not an independent work.
